Key dates

  • Deadline for entry is Sunday May 18th.
  • Championships will take place from June 14th to June 28th . For events with a large number of entries (likely to be for Men's Singles only) we will have a qualifying round during the week commencing June 7th.
  • Finals Day is June 28th . All finals - Adult Open and Veterans, Juniors and Minis - will take place on this date. There will be a BBQ and evening party, so put this date in your diary, bring your friends and get your dancing shoes ready!

Tournament details

The Tournament Director is our Head Coach, Alex Heath.

Adult event matches will be played at weekends and in the evenings. All matches will be scheduled by Alex using the LTA tournament planner. We will email results to all members every evening together with the running order for the next day, so you will know when you will be playing. All courts have been booked and you will not have to arrange matches or book courts - just turn up and play! You will need to provide your own balls, except for Finals Day. Balls will be available to buy behind the bar.

Results for all events will also be entered into the LTA Tournament website daily and you'll be able to keep up to date with results and draws. Results will automatically be recorded and contribute to your World Tennis Number.

You MUST be available to play for the majority of the 2-week period. We understand that you may have work or personal commitments and we will try and accommodate you if you cannot play on 2 or 3 dates during this period (please provide us with advance notice, if this is the case). If you cannot play when scheduled or at a reasonable alternative time, then you will have to forfeit the match. The decision of the Tournament Director will be final.

Junior (U12 - U18) matches will be played during the normal after-school club period: 4pm - 6.30pm.

Minis (reds, orange, greens) matches will all be played on the morning of Finals Day, June 28th

Remember, deadline for entries is May 18th.

FAQs

I don't get back from work until 7.30pm - can I still enter?
Yes, please enter! Let Alex know and we will arrange your matches for after this time.

I have to take care of my children on certain days - can I still enter?
Yes. If there are 2 or 3 days that you know you cannot make that is fine, please let Alex know.

I am on holiday until June 15th, but am happy to squeeze all my matches into the second week. Is that ok?
No, you should not enter. Scheduling is difficult, especially for doubles, so if you cannot be available for more than 3 days you should not enter.

I am away on Finals Day, should I enter?
Yes, please enter! We want as many participants as possible to make the Championships competitive and fun. But you will have to concede at match point in the semi-final if you get that far.

What happens if there is an emergency when I am scheduled to play?
We know these things happen. We can reschedule on one occasion but you will need to make this new date.

What happens if I have to withdraw due to injury?
The person/pair you beat in the previous round goes through. If your doubles partner has to withdraw you can enter a substitute as long as neither of you have yet played a round.

Do I have to contact my opponents?
No, the order of play will be sent out every evening for the next day. Just turn up when requested.

Do I have to book courts? What about balls?
No, all courts are booked for the tournament. Yes, you will have to provide balls, except for Finals Day (if you make it!). There will be a big stock of balls available to buy behind the bar.

Can I book courts for private play during the championships? Can I still have my coaching lesson?
Courts will be available for booking during off-peak hours as usual and all normal club sessions will take place during weekdays, but there will be no club social play or coaching in the evenings. There will be limited coaching and social play on the first weekend (June 14th/15th) but not on June 21st/22nd. Please keep an eye on the booking sheets.
