A week in, and as the draws are whittled down, the excitement builds up. Monday night highlights included: a massive performance from KV and Laurent to defeat Kumayl and Mikus 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 in a high quality 2hr classic (fully justifying the tournament director’s decision to put them on court 1!); the men’s top seed Chris Alstadt producing a Rolls-Royce performance in his win over Danny Lewis, who battled on admirably despite his shoulder preventing him from serving overarm – which made for an interesting watch!
