Junior Club Champs 2025 Round Up

Dear Member,

What a fantastic finale we had this weekend at the OC Junior Club Champs!

The sun was shining, the sausages sizzling and the soft drinks being slurped as hundreds of you gathered to play, compete or simply celebrate the sport we all love.

It couldn't have happened without the OC community spirit that you all contribute to and what makes Old College, in the words of one of our junior members, "probably the best club in the world". On days like Saturday, it felt like it.

Of course, none of it would be possible without the tireless work and creative energy of our coaches Alex Heath and Luke Hymas, and our volunteers - a big thanks goes to Penny and Freddie, who not only put in a mammoth stint helping run the clubhouse bar in sweltering conditions but then stepped up to referee an U14s final!

Onto the tennis! And boy, was it spectacular...what a standard you guys are setting. Across the board, from the min reds, oranges and greens, to the 18U finals, we witnessed thrilling shot making, awesome all-court action and some of the most entertaining matches over the entire two weeks.

It was also brilliant to see so many of you turn up to support your friends and share in the spirit of the sport. Some of these games drew big crowds and the general consensus was that the future of the game is looking mighty impressive!

Of course, there have to be winners but there were no losers on Saturday, only very, very close competitors. See you at the same time, same place next year!
