Winter Box Leagues - now live!

Dear Players,

Thank you all for signing up to the new Singles Box League which will run until March 31st 2018. We have had an amazing response to this with more than 80 players signing up.

Each box (except the last) has four players in it. The scoring format will be a Pro Set to 8 games . That is the first to 8 games. If the score is 7 games all, then a 7 point tie-break will be played to decide the winner and the score will be entered 8-7. We have chosen this format as it enables a match to be played in the 1.25 hours court booking slot.

You will need to log in to view these, and to submit your scores. Your username is and your password is . We will also put the hard copy of the boxes on the noticeboard.

The coaches have done their very best to put players in the appropriate boxes. Apologies if you think you have been assigned too high or low a box - you will soon rise up or down the ranks to find your rightful position.

The success of the league depends on players completing their matches each month. We would rather have half this number of boxes if all of those participating were playing the matches. So, unless exceptional circumstances occur which you report into Hamid, (your Referee) you must play at least two of your three matches in the allowed time. If not, you will excluded from participation for the remainder of the season. Sorry this is so tough but it will mean those committed to playing will make it a success. This rule will be strictly applied as for the annual Tournament.

The winners of each box will be promoted, the player finishing last will be relegated and the two finishing 2nd and 3rd will stay where they are. In a box where not all matches have been played, all players in that box will take their best two results to decide the positions.

Each round will last one month with the period over Christmas lasting for 5 weeks to take into account the holiday period where a lot of people will be away.
