Club Championships - Order of Play - Thursday 29th June

We’re getting there! Another busy night at the club on the second Wednesday, and spectators were spoilt for choice yet again. Pick of the day has to go to ‘one to watch’ Elliot Ofori who won the Boys Singles u14 title with a superb performance against a very strong opponent, Emeric Monfort. The boys put on a great show on court one, playing some of the best ‘all-court tennis’ seen all fortnight and being applauded by one of the biggest (non-finals day) crowds we’ve had. Well done boys!

Other performances of note include convincing demolition jobs from Jess Moody and Emma Michell, dropping just one game between them in their combined singles matches. In the Mens Doubles McIntosh and Reeve also had the bit between their teeth, after being pushed back to the later 8pm slot, to win their match in trademark aggressive style against Oddy and Williams. The 2nd seeds will play past finalists Alstadt and Pearson in the quarterfinals.
